Bram Bom and his Netherlands-America Foundation have been bringing large groups of Market Garden veterans to the Netherlands for 38 years to commemorate with them.

 

Every year he turns his vast network inside out and moves heaven and earth and to give as many veterans as possible a dignified end to their lives. They return to the places where they had to bury countless fellow soldiers and give them the chance to mourn and celebrate.

 

In this second book that we are making for Bram, the veteran teenage girl Anny appears, who writes about the war in her diary. Excerpts from her accurate account and letters from soldiers in retrospect combine to create a moving document of this defining period in WWII.
